Spaghetti for Lunch
As you can see, he really loves it.
After a very messy dinner of angel hair pasta with tomato sauce, Brian and Tomas went upstairs for his bath. Brian got the water and bubbles going, walked out to get a towel, returned a few seconds later and found that Tomas had crawled into the tub. The bright side (the only side I'm going to think about) of this is that we ended up with cute photos.
He is sound asleep- I was able to take 2 photos and open the blinds before he even began to stir. Weather is changing, requiring long sleeves and socks. Tomas lost one during the night though. He is holding on to his frog and seems to becoming more and more attached to it- lately in the morning he likes to carry it around with him.
This morning we were going to be too late for breakfast at daycare so I brought a bag of Fruit Loops with us for the road. He reached in and grabbed a handful but didn't eat any- he was still holding them when they sat him down at the table to eat. He really loves cereal. For the baby book: Tomas likes to climb on to the dining room chairs and then on to the table; it is now officially a problem. We've learned that if it's too quiet we'd better investigate. Also, when he's about to be given a snack and it's one he really, really wants, he will sit down on the floor and wait while we're getting it ready. I noticed it this weekend when he was offered pretzels (his current favorite) and another time, yogurt. When he is given his snack he will often go and sit on the floor in front of one of the dining room windows that looks out into the backyard. And, he dances!!!! When music plays he loves to move and he'll dance differently depending on what's playing. The other day he was dancing to a classical piece and there was a noticeable change in tempo and he recognized it and changed his movement. So interesting!!! (isn't it???)
Yesterday, Brian and Tomas had breakfast together before going to daycare. They both had Cheerios but Brian had his with milk. Tomas was very curious, watching the spoon go from the bowl to Brian's mouth, and pretty soon he wanted his own spoonful. As you can see in the photo he had more than just one bite.
This is from this morning- breakfast was with me and I mixed in Apple Jacks (his first time and he loved them) with his Cheerios and he ate almost the whole bowl. Just an observation- we've noticed he tends to use his left hand when eating with utensils...not sure when one becomes a lefty or a righty. And in case you were wondering, I had taquitos.
Tomas had M&M's for the first time this weekend- I think it is the first candy he's ever had. He wasn't too sure about them at first (even spit them out), but once he was able to taste their chocolatey goodness he was very happy.
He was too busy looking out the window this morning to pose for a photo so here are his feet. I think his short-wearing days are numbered. For the record, I left the pumpkin muffin on my desk on Saturday and b/c it contains cream cheese it is now inedible. Major bummer.
Doesn't this look delicious?!? Grabbed two muffins and an iced chai on my way to work this morning. I ate the carrot-zuchini muffin but I absolutely could not resist this- it also has cream cheese!!!! I'll save it for tomorrow and probably share it with Brian and the boy. It was a slow morning so I played around with the sidebar- some favorite links and what I am currently reading. My first title is a little embarassing but I've been on a mystery kick and this one features a librarian so...
We recently discovered this glow in the dark dog ball and Tomas just loves it. He is holding a tennis ball in the other hand and was still clutching them when I handed him over to his teacher this morning.
Eating his favorite breakfast: Cheerios and fruit. He really seems to understand what we are saying now- last night he pointed to his nose when Brian asked "Where's your nose?" and this morning we were in the dining room and when I asked if he wanted to come upstairs with me he ran to the stairs and tried to slide the gate open. Also this morning- I saw him chewing something, walked toward him and asked, "What are you eating?" He stopped chewing, turned around and ran! Never did find out what it was...
